Concept:  Phonetic dialogues and derp images have expressive qualities

Concept:  Face swapping and bombing confuse and create dissonance

Create > My Life Photo Essay

My life essay connects people that are important to me to a memory associated with the book cover double exposed on their face, For example my dad and I both read Divergent and were able to have in depth conversations about it. We also watched the movie in theaters together and got to have the this wasn't in the book debate.

Concept:  
  • A photo essay tells a story using a series of linked photographs.  
  • A photo essay expresses an author's personal point of view on a specific topic.

Goal:
Create a series of 12 related images investigating the topic; My Life.

Trigger Mechanisms: Introspection, Symbolize, Contemplate

Studio Activity:
  1. Make a series of 12 linked images that cover the topic ‘My Life’.
  2. This series of images can be literal or metaphoric in nature.
  3. Review compositional techniques that make great images (ex: close-up, simple background, move it from the middle).
  4. Include a 50 to 100 written word essay when you share your essay.
  5. These pictures must be public school appropriate.
  6. Focus on the positive.  These photographs may not be negative.  
  7. Use image editing programs and filters to enhance your photographs..
  8. Print out your images and written essay.  
  9. Frame and arrange your images on heavy tag.
